California is filled with colleges and Universities who typically work in their own silos.
Butte Community College and CSU Chico are breaking out of that model and have been
collaborating on campus events, curriculum development and community outreach. The
collaborative efforts between their students, staff, faculty and administrators have led
them sustainable programming and National recognition. This session will also discuss
UC San Diego’s “Greenovations Forum,” which allows community members to engage in
the sustainable progress happening on UC San Diego’s campus. The session will explore
how to create collaborative relationships between colleges and communities and why these
relationships are effective and important.
